Four families · Sixteen of us · One mountain

Our week in Chamonix

The Club Med model we loved — everyone in level-banded ski groups all day, kids looked after at lunch, parents free to ski — set under Mont Blanc for Eid week 2027. Here's the plan, the three options, and a place for each family to weigh in.

Sat 6 – Sat 13 March 2027 · 7 nights Eid / Ramazan Bayramı week Geneva transfer · ESF for all ages

Why this works for us

The same rhythm we always loved — just better mountains.

We've outgrown the big-club environment, but not the formula. Chamonix lets us keep everyone in proper ski groups all day while the parents ski independently, with the legendary Mont Blanc terrain on the doorstep.

⛷️

Everyone in a group

ESF lessons for all — kids 5–12 with a supervised lunch club, the teens in their own bands, and adults in Class 2/3/4. Mornings are sorted before the lifts even spin.

🧒

Kids handled, parents free

The 10–12s get group courses plus meal and children's club at the foot of the slopes. Drop at 08:30, ski your own lines, regroup at 13:30. No buses, no juggling.

🏔️

A real mountain

From the Aiguille du Midi to the Vallée Blanche for the strong skiers and 15+, plus husky sledding and the Mer de Glace for the whole group. Far more than a manicured club resort.

What every option includes

One price, the whole week handled.

All three options below are costed all-in per person (family of 4): 7 nights, 6-day lift pass, 5 days of ESF, shared Geneva transfer and meals. The differences are where you sleep and the vibe — not what's covered.

7 nights' lodgingBreakfast included or fully catered — non-negotiable for the group.
6-day Chamonix Le Pass~€330pp · adult €340–360, youth €290–310.
ESF group lessons ×5 half-daysKids, teens and adults — ~€300/skier, lunch club ~€95/child.
Shared Geneva (GVA) transferReturn, ~€80pp — Alpine Fleet / Mountain Dropoffs / Alps2Alps.
A day in the week

How the days run.

Drop the 10–12s at the Savoy children's centre — two minutes' walk, no buses.

Adults into Class 2/3/4 ESF; teens in their own bands. Meet at Maison de la Montagne / Savoy.

Kids' supervised lunch club; parents regroup over a long lunch on the mountain.

Afternoon free-ski together, or activities — husky sledding, Mer de Glace, snowpark for the younger ones.

Destination 1 — pick where we stay

Three ways to do the same week.

Per person, family of 4, all-in. Numbers below were built for the January week and are being re-costed for March — treat them as the relative shape, not the final invoice.

Option A

La Folie Douce Hotel

4★ hotel · bed & breakfast · ski-in/ski-out (Savoy)
€1,790/ person
≈ €28,600 for all 16
  • Lively, après-ski energy — DJ, shows, Kids' Palace (4–12)
  • Unbeatable location and breakfast, big views
  • Noise / soundproofing complaints — book Premium, high floor
  • Standard rooms small & tired
Best value Option B

Les Balcons du Savoy

4★ aparthotel · breakfast buffet · ski-in/ski-out (Savoy)
€1,595/ person
≈ €25,500 for all 16
  • An apartment per family — space and privacy
  • Calmer than the Folie Douce, pool & sauna
  • Same two-minute walk to the Savoy ESF meeting point
  • Lowest all-in cost of the three
Option C

Fully catered chalet

Private chalet · breakfast + 5–6 dinners · 5–15 min drive
€2,035/ person
≈ €32,600 for all 16
  • The most Club Med-like — chef, host and driver
  • Private to our group, all 16 under one roof
  • Dinners handled — least logistics for parents
  • Highest cost · short drive to the lifts
